Pang Xiong- Room 202

Hello families!  Welcome to 202!  My name is Pang Xiong.  I have had the pleasure of working at Marcy the past 4 years as an Instructional and Math Specialist.  I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade this year especially because I may have worked with your student when they were in 2nd grade!  As a math specialist I co-taught math in K-2 classrooms and worked with teachers.  I enjoy working with teachers but I love working with students more!  There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a light bulb go off in a student’s mind.

Our school theme this year is “Teach Peace.”  Marcy is an International Peace Site therefore this theme is fitting.  I value students’ ability to solve conflicts peacefully and at the same time have compassion for others.  My hope and dream is that students will continue to have a growth mindset by challenging themselves, giving their best effort, and taking risks.  I hope that all students will grow in curiosity and advance their love of learning.  In our classroom community we will respect one another, encourage kindness, and cooperate.  I look forward to getting to know each student individually.

When I am not at school, I love spending time with my husband, 3-years old son, and 5-month old daughter.  I enjoy traveling, trying new foods, reading a good book, watching a good movie/show on Netflix, and playing volleyball.  I come from a big family of 2 brothers and 4 sisters.  My sisters and I like cooking together.

Please contact me if you have any questions.  I look forward to partnering with you to ensure your child reach their fullest potential.  We are going to have a fabulous year!
