Happy Thursday!

We are looking forward to conferences tonight and tomorrow. (Reminder there is no school tomorrow.)

We had a great week dressing up, visiting Seussville and reading so many Dr. Seuss books!

Our week at a glance:
Reading: We continue to compare and make text connections with Dr. Seuss books. We also started to study cause and effect using the Cat in the Hat book.
Math: We will finish our unit on 3D shapes next week. The tricky part is remembering the names of all the 3D shapes; cone and cube are easy while triangular prism, rectangular prism, cylinder get a little harder. If you see these shapes at home help your student to use their ‘math vocabulary’ to describe the shape. Next week we will go deeper with look at the number of faces and sides each shape has.
Writing: Our author’s celebration was a big hit on Monday with our all-about books. We even had a juice box toast!
Social Studies: We are still learning about goods and services and how we purchase goods and services.

Next week:
Monday: Gym, media
Tuesday: Art, Josie’s birthday
Wednesday: Gym, Nutrition class (Part of a 4-week series)
Thursday: Art
Friday: Gym
Sight (star) words: have, some

The March principal’s challenge, sharing calendar, and list of suggested activities is in your child’s Friday folder.

If you are still holding on to the names from the sorting activities we had earlier this month, you can safely toss them now. We will not be using them.

You will also find information for March sharing in the Friday folder and attached.  Students sharing in March must share a poem (we are beginning a poetry unit.
