4. Form committees to work on specific Hopes and Dreams. Each committee should choose a chair and vice chair; create a list of members; and choose 1-2 action items to present to the full council. (30)

• Outreach and Diverse Representation on the Parent and Site Councils (e.g. family nights with speakers, recruiting new members to councils, encouraging more parents to participate)

GUEST SPEAKER: Dr. Joyce Epstein of Johns Hopkins University
Minneapolis Public Schools and Center for School Change are collaborating to promote family involvement in our schools by bringing Dr. Joyce Epstein of Johns Hopkins University to present to our community. Dr. Epstein is one of the nation's leading authorities on the research about, and how to increase, school/family/community involvement
