Sally Engen

Hello Marcy Marlins!

My name is Sally Engen and I am one of your Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) teachers.  I am here to support teaching and learning for the Marcy Open community.  I have worked in Minneapolis Public Schools for the past 10 years.

As a special education and general education teacher for the past 17 years I was fortunate to work in many diverse and exciting settings.  I first started teaching in Sweden and New Zealand before serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Uzbekistan.  After my tenure in Uzbekistan, I was a recipient of a Peace Corps Fellowship that took my teaching and learning to the Hopi Indian Reservation in Northeast Arizona, where I also earned my Master's degree in Education in 2004.  My undergraduate degree is in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.  I am a born and bred true Minnesota girl and grew up in Fridley.

I am proud to be a homeowner and live in Northeast Minneapolis with my husband Davin and 3 year old son Jacob as well as our wonderful dog, Missy.

I am excited to be a Marlin and am looking forward to a great school year.
