• Open education (e.g. focus on values, precepts, responsive classroom)
• Outreach and Diverse Representation on the Parent and Site Councils (e.g. family nights with speakers, recruiting new members to councils, encouraging more parents to participate)
• Communication (e.g. keeping website current, online bulletin board)

2. Instrumental Music Program – status report (5)

V. New Business

1. School Improvement Plan (SIP) Review (15)

2. Target/EllenDeGeneres $100,000 Grant Opportunity (10)
50 schools will each receive a $100,000 grant from Target. The Ellen DeGeneres Show has asked viewers to submit the name of a school that needs help, along with a compelling story that explains why the school should receive a grant. Target will then select 50 schools to receive a grant that can be used to support an improved learning environment for kids including new books, upgraded technology and more. Schools will be chosen based on a number of factors, including consideration of Title I eligibility. Two of the selected schools will be featured on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

3. Post Office in Dinkytown might close (10)
Marcy Holmes Neighborhood Association has asked us if we would send a letter of support for keeping this branch open.
