Marcy Open Parent/Site Council (MOPSC)

Marcy Open School’s leadership structure is comprised of two councils: the Site Council (formerly called Leadership) and the Parent Council

The Site Council is made up of representatives from the staff, students, community members, and parents.  The Site Council identifies priorities for school improvement, guide program and budget decisions and encourage broad participation from across the school community. The Parent Council focuses on parent education and fundraising.  While meetings of both the Parent and Site Councils are open to all parents and staff who wish to attend, only elected representatives to the Site Council can vote on Site Council decision-making issues.  For Parent Council based issues, all parents in attendance can vote as all parents are members of Parent Council.

The Site Council will meet jointly with the Marcy Parent Council.  The Marcy Open Parent/Site Council (MOPSC) meetings will usually take place on the first Thursday of the month from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  The Site Council may schedule additional meetings, and times will be published here and in the Parent's Press.  Likewise, Parent Council and the Parent Council Board may schedule additional meetings which will be published in the Parent's Press and on line.

If you have a question, issue or concern that you would like the Marcy Site Council to address, please contact a member of the Council or the principal.  Agenda planning takes place the week prior to each scheduled meeting.

Transportation to and from MOPSC meetings can be arranged by contacting the Parent Liaison at (612) 668-1023. Childcare is always available.
